Light rail line safety induction

The aim of the project was to create a self-paced, online safety training course for people working near light rail lines. The light rail line operates at significantly higher speeds than a regular tram line, which means that a lookout person can be deployed at light rail construction sites. The emphasis in the training material was to be placed on the lookout person’s activities. The content production focused on the visualisation of the online course, as the project produced 360° images and video material.

An ongoing excavation work near the light rail line was chosen as the subject of the visualisation, as the aim of the training is to familiarise the participants with the practices on the site. The visualisations drew on the client’s substantive knowledge of the subject during the scripting phase as well as during the actual filming to ensure that the visualisations produced were relevant.

The 360° images are particularly well suited for safety inductions, facility safety training and other virtual tours, making them a good fit for a self-paced online course. This makes it possible to explore different environments, for example from the comfort of your own home.
